Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Steelers, and a B- to prove it.

Priorities are a choice, and the Steelers made a strange one, taking Zach Frazier at offensive lineman in the 54th overall pick with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots crying out for the pick instead. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Rosemy-Jacksaint makes the weekend a net positive. The Frazier pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front. More want than need.
Pick54 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
Of all the spots to shop, they chose offensive lineman. Zach Frazier in No. 54 leaves quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots for later.
Pick84 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at the 84th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick120 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
No edge and no loss on Justin Eboigbe in slot 120; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick121 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg in Round 4, Pick 21 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick160 Rnd5 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the Round 5 slot is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick198 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
A straight-up fair deal on Josh Proctor at the 198th pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick238 Rnd7 Blake Watson
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Watson. The roster fit checks out.
