A respectable, level-headed haul for the Steelers: B-.

Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending slot 98 on Matt Goncalves with safety, edge rusher and other spots still wide open. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Goncalves pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Odunze at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
