Mateer is the plan now, and the Raiders grade out a B-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. John Mateer is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Beck to cover a lot of smaller sins. If Rivers pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Adepoju Adebawore in Round 6, Pick 8 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
