Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
The Steelers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

The Steelers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.

The Monangai steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Parrish has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Matthew Golden and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Matthew Golden
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe in slot 94 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick104 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips in the 104th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in pick 109 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick123 Rnd4 Jordan James
Jordan James at No. 123 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick156 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown is a better player than the 156th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick200 Rnd6 Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw at pick No. 200 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick229 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 13: Kyle Monangai for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
