Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears checked most of the boxes and earned a B. The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Chase Bisontis, taking him 22 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Singleton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Rueben Bain Jr.
In slot 16 they get a double-digit-sack hope. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Nicholas Singleton
A running back of that caliber at pick 57 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick80
Rnd3
Whit Weeks
The board had Whit Weeks higher than No. 80, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick89
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
They left a pile of value on the table to take Chase Bisontis this early at pick No. 89. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126
Rnd4
Bray Hubbard
Bray Hubbard at the 126th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
