Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB+ TradesC- FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Giants: C+.

The Giants spent real capital to be 94 picks early on Shaun Dolac, and the board is going to hold them to it. A mixed bag that lands at C+.

Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That Trapilo pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In No. 6 they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
Derrick Harmon in Round 2, Pick 2 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at the 65th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in slot 68 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo slid further than he should have, and pick 99 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick105 Rnd4 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
A big swing on Antwaun Powell-Ryland at pick No. 105, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick108 Rnd4 Nick Nash
This one needs a full-page explanation: Nick Nash in the Round 4 slot, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick154 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten at Round 5, Pick 16 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd7 Davin Vann
A real head-scratcher, Davin Vann in the 219th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246 Rnd7 Shaun Dolac
Shaun Dolac at pick 246 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
