Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
The Browns won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Browns were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.

Adding Jonathan Taylor by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In No. 14 they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
Nice patience on Walter Nolen, who had no business lasting to slot 33. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
No edge and no loss on Tyler Booker in pick 34; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick45 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in Round 2, Pick 13 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Bradyn Swinson
Good price on Bradyn Swinson in the 67th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick80 Rnd3 Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. at the Round 3 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at the 94th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick103 Rnd4 Ozzy Trapilo
A quiet steal in pick No. 103: Ozzy Trapilo for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick104 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
No drama and no debate, Cam Skattebo went about where he belonged in slot 104. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
