Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
The Jaguars did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The Jaguars clearly saw something nobody else did in Gabe Hall, taking him 44 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Spending an early pick on DT-EDGE with quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Dixon falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In pick 22 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick48 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
They read the board right and Keon Coleman was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick96 Rnd3 Audric Estime
Audric Estime at Round 3, Pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick97 Rnd3 Maason Smith
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 97th pick on Maason Smith with quarterback unsolved.
Pick100 Rnd3 James Williams
This one needs a full-page explanation: James Williams in No. 100, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
Pick115 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
They liked Beaux Limmer enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 115. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick116 Rnd4 Josh Newton
Josh Newton in the 116th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
A premium they did not need to pay, Ben Sinnott a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at Round 4, Pick 20 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick121 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray in pick 121 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick148 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
A straight-up fair deal on Justin Eboigbe at No. 148, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick152 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Khristian Boyd. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick170 Rnd5 Gabe Hall
Gabe Hall at pick No. 170 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick189 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at the 189th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick195 Rnd6 Johnny Dixon
Johnny Dixon slid further than he should have, and No. 195 is lovely value for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Myles Cole
They paid up for Myles Cole at the 211th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick234 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace at slot 234 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
