Call it larceny. Carson Beck sat on the board until the 152nd overall pick, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The Wheatley pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with cornerback, offensive lineman and other spots still on the board.

They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
