Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Clay Webb at the 165th overall pick, a reach of 33 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Bowman Jr. makes the weekend a net positive.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
Nice patience on Donovan Ezeiruaku, who had no business lasting to the 64th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick86 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Gunnar Helm. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick96 Rnd3 Tez Johnson
A straight-up fair deal on Tez Johnson at pick No. 96, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick125 Rnd4 Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams is a better player than Round 4, Pick 23 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick127 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. slipping to No. 127 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick134 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
They paid sticker price for Hollin Pierce in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick158 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
The board had cheaper options than Ty Robinson at Round 5, Pick 20, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick161 Rnd5 Barryn Sorrell
They went early on Barryn Sorrell in pick No. 161, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick164 Rnd5 Que Robinson
Que Robinson at slot 164 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick165 Rnd5 Clay Webb
They left a pile of value on the table to take Clay Webb this early at No. 165. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick168 Rnd5 Damien Martinez
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Damien Martinez in pick 168. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
