The rest of the league had time to spare on Clay Webb; the Eagles did not wait, grabbing him 30 spots ahead at No. 165.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Ransom where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
