Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles let Bond fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Eagles spent the Round 5 slot on Caleb Rogers, a name most had 33 spots down the list. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Bond steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in the 64th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick96 Rnd3 David Walker
A conviction pick on David Walker at the 96th overall pick that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick117 Rnd4 Isaiah Bond
Taking Isaiah Bond in No. 117 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick127 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Denzel Burke in the Round 4 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jordan James
Jordan James at the 134th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick161 Rnd5 Barryn Sorrell
By-the-book stuff, Barryn Sorrell at Round 5, Pick 23 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick164 Rnd5 Vernon Broughton
A real head-scratcher, Vernon Broughton in pick 164 is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick165 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Oronde Gadsden II. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick168 Rnd5 Caleb Rogers
Value said wait; Caleb Rogers in the 168th pick says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
