The 49ers bet big and early on Hykeem Williams, 37 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
