Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall D+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Steelers won the night they stopped Crenshaw-Dickson from sliding. Grade: D+.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Steelers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The cost of the Oladejo reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Crenshaw-Dickson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Derrick Harmon
In the Round 1 slot they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Higgins at pick 56 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
A safety of that caliber at No. 66 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick83 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Demetrius Knight Jr. in the 83rd pick, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick89 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in slot 89 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick123 Rnd4 Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo in the 123rd overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick156 Rnd5 Barryn Sorrell
They went early on Barryn Sorrell in Round 5, Pick 18, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick170 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill in the 170th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jaydon Blue
Fair-plus on Jaydon Blue, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick229 Rnd7 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at No. 229 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick251 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. at the 251st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
