FutureA
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Seahawks. There is reaching, and then there is Miles Frazier at the 92nd overall pick. The Seahawks jumped the board by 25 and dared it to prove them wrong.
Martinez falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
A tidy little value on Jahdae Barron in pick 18, a step better than break-even. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick50
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at slot 50 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick82
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in pick No. 82 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick92
Rnd3
Miles Frazier
Value said wait; Miles Frazier in the 92nd overall pick says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa in No. 137 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick172
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Damien Martinez at Round 5, Pick 34 is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool at the Round 5 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick187
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Fair-plus on Dont'e Thornton Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
Akili Arnold
They took Akili Arnold at par in pick No. 223, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick234
Rnd7
Shemar James
The board had cheaper options than Shemar James at pick 234, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
