Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Jaguars robbed the room for Thieneman. Final grade: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Dillon Thieneman, the No. 44 name on the board, stolen at Round 3, Pick 17. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker. Gill-Howard has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The back end got a real overhaul.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick42
Rnd2
Avieon Terrell
They will replay Avieon Terrell at No. 42 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81
Rnd3
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman in Round 3, Pick 17 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick90
Rnd3
Garrett Nussmeier
Garrett Nussmeier in slot 90 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick125
Rnd4
Skyler Gill-Howard
Skyler Gill-Howard at the Round 4 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Eric Rivers
Steal is underselling it; Eric Rivers at pick No. 163 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick165
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell at pick 165 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick233
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Circle this one: Trey Zuhn III at the 233rd pick is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick245
Rnd7
Kayin Lee
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kayin Lee at the 245th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
