Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Steelers. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Steelers never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
However the rest shakes out, Mukuba at that price is a win they earned. Milroe has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
A quiet steal in No. 31: Kenneth Grant for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick41
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Omarion Hampton in pick 41. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe in slot 83 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick95
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Value with a capital V on Andrew Mukuba in Round 3, Pick 31, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick123
Rnd4
Nohl Williams
A clean, defensible pick in the 123rd overall pick with a little surplus value in Nohl Williams. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
