Draft Grade — Lions

Best value of the weekend goes to the Lions for Harden: B.

When a board-topper like Myles Harden slides to the 249th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Lions did not. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered. Devon Key gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a lockdown presence outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick61 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
The board fumbled Keon Coleman all the way to the 61st overall pick, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick76 Rnd3 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 76 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick121 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick164 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki in pick No. 164 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick201 Rnd6 Myles Cole
Myles Cole at slot 201 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
They took Jared Wiley at par in No. 205, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick249 Rnd7 Myles Harden
Myles Harden in the 249th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
