There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Patriots started one anyway for Patrick Payton, 71 picks ahead of schedule. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

However the rest shakes out, Jackson at that price is a win they earned. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
