Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Seahawks left with their quarterback, and a D to match.

There is reaching, and then there is Tommy Eichenberg at the 81st pick. The Seahawks jumped the board by 46 and dared it to prove them wrong. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Getting Mitchell where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In slot 16 they get a passer to set the clock by, outstanding value to boot.
Pick33 Rnd2 Rome Odunze
Rome Odunze in Round 2, Pick 1 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick44 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Payton Wilson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65 Rnd3 Quinyon Mitchell
You do not let a cornerback like Quinyon Mitchell reach the 65th overall pick and blink. They did not. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick77 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau at pick 77 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick78 Rnd3 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy at pick No. 78 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick81 Rnd3 Tommy Eichenberg
Value said wait; Tommy Eichenberg in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick110 Rnd4 Spencer Rattler
Steal is underselling it; Spencer Rattler at Round 4, Pick 10 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
A premium they did not need to pay, Cedric Gray a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
