Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedA- TradesB+ FutureA+
The Giants let Campbell fall and pounced. Final grade: A-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jihaad Campbell at pick 80 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The cost of the Travis reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Mason Graham and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In No. 14 they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at the 34th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick45 Rnd2 Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65 Rnd3 Trey Amos
Trey Amos at Round 3, Pick 1 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at pick 80 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at the 103rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick120 Rnd4 Tory Horton
Tory Horton in slot 120 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick153 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
Circle this one: Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 153 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jalen Travis
A wild overpay on Jalen Travis in the 219th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
