Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Raiders.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Raiders did exactly that with Teddye Buchanan in the Round 7 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

However the rest shakes out, Pegues at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

In No. 6 they get an every-down engine for the run game. A real need, handled.
Pick37 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
A tidy bit of business in the 37th pick, where Emeka Egbuka graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Darien Porter
They paid up for Darien Porter at pick 68 when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick108 Rnd4 Savion Williams
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Savion Williams at the Round 4 slot is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143 Rnd5 Logan Brown
A straight-up fair deal on Logan Brown at Round 5, Pick 5, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick180 Rnd6 Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
They liked Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins enough to skip the value, taking him in the 180th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick213 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

They reached a country mile for Carson Vinson at pick No. 215, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick222 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan at Round 7, Pick 6 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
