Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureC+
The Raiders found their guy under center in Daniels: D-.

When a board-topper like Dwight McGlothern slides to Round 7, Pick 9, you do not overthink it, and the Raiders did not. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

Byrd has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In slot 4 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
A clean, defensible pick in the 13th pick with a little surplus value in Olumuyiwa Fashanu. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick44 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
They barely believed it either: Chop Robinson still on the board at No. 44. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick101 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
A tidy little value on Brenden Rice in Round 4, Pick 1, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick112 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Good price on Zak Zinter in the 112th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick148 Rnd5 Kalen King
They read the board right and Kalen King was the payoff at pick 148. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166 Rnd5 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at the 166th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick208 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick223 Rnd7 Solomon Byrd
This one needs a full-page explanation: Solomon Byrd in pick No. 223, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick229 Rnd7 Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern in slot 229 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick240 Rnd7 Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace at No. 240 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
