Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA
The Raiders lost the trade table, and the C tells the story.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Pat Coogan at Round 6, Pick 8 is 46 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

The Beck steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The Perkins Jr. pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back, tight end and other spots.

The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Hit on Chris Brazzell II and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In the 26th pick they get a go-to option on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Anthony Hill Jr.. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick40 Rnd2 Connor Lew
By-the-book stuff, Connor Lew at the 40th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick68 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Harold Perkins Jr. adds a linebacker and leaves running back, tight end and other spots untouched.
Pick89 Rnd3 Carson Beck
Carson Beck at pick No. 89 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick103 Rnd4 Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
They liked Kenyatta Jackson Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 103. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jyaire Hill
Good price on Jyaire Hill in pick 133, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick174 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the 174th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick191 Rnd6 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick225 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
A straight-up fair deal on Tristan Leigh at pick No. 225, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
