Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesD- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Mendoza headlines a C+ weekend for the Raiders.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

They are betting Wagner proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

The Raiders indulged a want in Omosigho while a need in edge rusher, running back and other spots stayed open. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
No edge and no loss on Fernando Mendoza in pick 13; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick39 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
A straight-up fair deal on Jake Slaughter at pick No. 39, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick47 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor in the 47th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick74 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II at slot 74 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick94 Rnd3 Keith Abney II
Fair-plus on Keith Abney II, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick109 Rnd4 Harold Perkins Jr.
Good price on Harold Perkins Jr. in No. 109, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick130 Rnd4 Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at the Round 4 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Sammy Omosigho
A want over a need in the 134th overall pick: Sammy Omosigho adds a linebacker while edge rusher, running back and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick158 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at Round 5, Pick 17 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in slot 175 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick187 Rnd6 Bud Clark
Bud Clark in the 187th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick227 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 227th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
