Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Raiders to a C.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Raiders, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

The Lawson pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with running back and tight end still on the board. The cost of the Igbinosun reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Getting Wheatley where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In pick No. 31 they get a No. 1 receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at slot 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick63 Rnd2 Carson Beck
Carson Beck at Round 2, Pick 31 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick68 Rnd3 Arvell Reese
Value with a capital V on Arvell Reese in pick 68, a genuine coup. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick89 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Deontae Lawson while clear needs at running back and tight end sat open.
Pick95 Rnd3 Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
They reached a country mile for Kenyatta Jackson Jr. at the 95th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick103 Rnd4 Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley in the 103rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick133 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick174 Rnd5 Xavier Nwankpa
A reasonable price with a little left over, Xavier Nwankpa in pick No. 174. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick195 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Zuhn III this early at slot 195. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick225 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh in No. 225 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick229 Rnd7 Bear Alexander
A reach on Bear Alexander in the 229th pick; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
