The Riley Mahlman pick is the one that will follow the Steelers into the fall. They took him 55 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They banked enough surplus on Trotter to cover a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
