The Patriots checked most of the boxes and earned a B. For all the boxes ticked, the Patriots skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Mason Graham
Mason Graham at the Round 1 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick28
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In the 28th pick they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
