The Broncos found their guy under center in Nix: D-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Broncos took Curtis Jacobs a full 33 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Everything downstream of Bo Nix depends on Bo Nix, and the building knows it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
