If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. Clay Webb at slot 41 is 157 spots clear of where he belonged. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Golden. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
