Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B-

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Branch: B-. Somebody in pick 172 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Steelers sat still while Zachariah Branch, the No. 113 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
Reaching for Height left real value on the table behind him. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Romello Height
Romello Height at the 25th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick58
Rnd2
Darrell Jackson Jr.
A reach on Darrell Jackson Jr. in No. 58; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick79
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick89
Rnd3
Antonio Williams
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Antonio Williams in slot 89, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick99
Rnd3
Keith Abney II
Keith Abney II in Round 3, Pick 35 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126
Rnd4
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson is a better player than the 126th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134
Rnd4
Deion Burks
They will replay Deion Burks at pick No. 134 for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick164
Rnd5
Chase Roberts
The board fumbled Chase Roberts all the way to pick 164, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Pick172
Rnd5
Zachariah Branch
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 33 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick209
Rnd6
Bud Clark
They barely believed it either: Bud Clark still on the board at No. 209. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217
Rnd6
Isaiah Nwokobia
Nice patience on Isaiah Nwokobia, who had no business lasting to the Round 6 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick243
Rnd7
Brett Norfleet
By-the-book stuff, Brett Norfleet at the 243rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
