Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B

Nobody dealt better than the Seahawks this weekend: B.

The Jamaree Caldwell selection is the head-turner. The Seahawks reached 119 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

However the rest shakes out, Mullings at that price is a win they earned. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick36 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 36th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick50 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
They talked themselves into Quinn Ewers at pick No. 50, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick55 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Donovan Jackson well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at slot 66 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick82 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
They paid sticker price for Mason Taylor in No. 82, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
You do not let a wide receiver like Jalen Royals reach pick 87 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in No. 88 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Darius Alexander. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at pick No. 121 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick132 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
They reached a country mile for Cobee Bryant at the 132nd pick, and the board is aghast. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick137 Rnd4 Clay Webb
Clay Webb at Round 4, Pick 36 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings at slot 173 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick187 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
The board had cheaper options than Luke Lachey at pick 187, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick212 Rnd6 Jamaree Caldwell
Jamaree Caldwell in the 212th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick236 Rnd7 Josh Kelly
Value said wait; Josh Kelly in Round 7, Pick 18 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
