Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB
Brooks should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B+.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Tahj Brooks tumbling to the Seahawks in pick No. 187 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Garcia has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In No. 31 they get a ballhawk on the back end at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Pick59 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Tre Harris at slot 59 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick82 Rnd3 Deone Walker
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Deone Walker at pick 82 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
The board had Gunnar Helm higher than Round 3, Pick 21, and the tight end fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
A straight-up fair deal on Dylan Fairchild at pick No. 89, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick95 Rnd3 Denzel Burke
Nothing to complain about; Denzel Burke went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick137 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord at the 173rd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick178 Rnd5 Kobe King
Kobe King in the 178th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick187 Rnd6 Tahj Brooks
Circle this one: Tahj Brooks at Round 6, Pick 9 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick212 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed in the 212th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick213 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Antwane Wells Jr. at No. 213 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick236 Rnd7 John Williams
No drama and no debate, John Williams went about where he belonged in the Round 7 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick243 Rnd7 Gino Garcia
Gino Garcia at pick 243 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
