Jones Jr. should have been long gone. The Eagles pounced, and earned a B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Emery Jones Jr. slide 42 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Jones has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

They reached a country mile for Sai'vion Jones at the Round 3 slot, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. in slot 134 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick161 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill at the 161st overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick164 Rnd5 Ryan Fitzgerald
Ryan Fitzgerald at the 164th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.

Taking Nick Nash in pick No. 165 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
