Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesA- FutureA-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Vikings: B+.

The Tyler Harrell pick is the one that will follow the Vikings into the fall. They took him 106 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

The Jones pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick64 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
A reasonable price with a little left over, T'Vondre Sweat in slot 64. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick82 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Good price on Christian Haynes in pick 82, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick108 Rnd4 Joe Milton III
They talked themselves into Joe Milton III at pick No. 108, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at Round 4, Pick 30 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick132 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They went early on Ben Sinnott in the 132nd overall pick, and the value did not follow. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick148 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick160 Rnd5 Chau Smith-Wade
Chau Smith-Wade at Round 5, Pick 24 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick166 Rnd5 Frank Gore Jr.
They paid sticker price for Frank Gore Jr. in the 166th pick, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick179 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
A reach on Josh Proctor in pick 179; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick230 Rnd7 Christian Jones
Christian Jones in pick No. 230 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick253 Rnd7 Tyler Harrell
They reached a country mile for Tyler Harrell at No. 253, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
