A passer of the future in Daniels, and a B, for the Saints.

Nobody else had DeMonte Capehart anywhere near the 203rd overall pick. The Saints did, by 64 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. That Simpson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
