James should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a B-.

The board owed the Ravens one, and it paid up: Jordan James, the No. 124 name on the board, sitting there at No. 185 like a gift left on the doorstep. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Reaching for Hamilton left real value on the table behind him. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
