When a board-topper like Lander Barton slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will need Higgins to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Texans clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
