The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chargers and McKinstry: A.

Somebody in the Round 3 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chargers sat still while Kool-Aid McKinstry, the No. 24 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Very little went wrong, and the A is earned.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

With edge rusher and quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

Bottom line, with Jer'Zhan Newton leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
