Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Steelers, and a B- to prove it.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Steelers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Hadden falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In slot 20 they get a cornerstone up front. More want than need.
Pick51 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Worthy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick84 Rnd3 Kris Abrams-Draine
Kris Abrams-Draine at Round 3, Pick 20 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
They took Khyree Jackson at par in pick 98, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick119 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick178 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden at the 178th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick195 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in No. 195 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
