2024 DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

FutureB-
The Steelers found their guy under center in Sellers: B. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Steelers committed. LaNorris Sellers is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
The Holly reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Freeling pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
That Nelson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
LaNorris Sellers
In pick No. 14 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46
Rnd2
Christen Miller
Christen Miller is a better player than No. 46 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick73
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
Nice patience on Elijah Sarratt, who had no business lasting to pick 73. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick78
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
They went early on Caleb Tiernan in Round 3, Pick 14, and the value did not follow. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick98
Rnd3
Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 98 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick114
Rnd4
Monroe Freeling
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher to take Monroe Freeling, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Pick133
Rnd4
Terrance Carter
By-the-book stuff, Terrance Carter at the 133rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick153
Rnd5
Antonio Kite
No edge and no loss on Antonio Kite in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick176
Rnd5
Jordan Castell
Jordan Castell at pick No. 176 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick192
Rnd6
Malachi Nelson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malachi Nelson at Round 6, Pick 16. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick211
Rnd6
Dominic Zvada
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dominic Zvada this early at pick 211. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick227
Rnd7
Trey Holly
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Trey Holly well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
