Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

FutureB-
Dart is the Dolphins' new face under center. Grade: B-. Start where it matters. The Dolphins took Jaxson Dart to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If Dart pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Jaxson Dart
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick48
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in slot 48 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick98
Rnd3
Anthony Belton
A reach for Anthony Belton in pick No. 98; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick116
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
A tidy little value on Joshua Farmer in pick 116, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick135
Rnd4
Brashard Smith
By-the-book stuff, Brashard Smith at the 135th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick150
Rnd5
Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin at the 150th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick155
Rnd5
Mitchell Evans
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mitchell Evans at Round 5, Pick 17 is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
Pick224
Rnd7
Ricky White III
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ricky White III in No. 224. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick231
Rnd7
Bilhal Kone
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bilhal Kone. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick253
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
Nothing to complain about; Teddye Buchanan went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
