The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Sanders: D.

Somebody took the 49ers to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

Getting Sanders where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
