Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureC-
The Patriots let Pierce fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Hollin Pierce tumbling to the Patriots in pick 145 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Frazier lower, and that gap is the story.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In pick No. 4 they get an island corner at fair value. More want than need.
Pick39 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick41 Rnd2 Marcus Mbow
A premium they did not need to pay, Marcus Mbow a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
A safety of that caliber at No. 69 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick77 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
No drama and no debate, Isaiah Bond went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 13. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick105 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Jared Wilson at slot 105 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick145 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce at pick 145 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd7 Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at the 219th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick222 Rnd7 Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne at slot 222 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick240 Rnd7 Logan Parr
Logan Parr at the Round 7 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
