Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall
B

FutureB-
Sampson should have been long gone. The Chargers pounced, and earned a B. You could see the war room lean forward. Dylan Sampson at Round 3, Pick 22 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Colston Loveland
In the Round 1 slot they get a seam-stretching tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick55
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
They let Tyleik Williams come to them and pounced at pick No. 55. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick86
Rnd3
Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson in the 86th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
