If confidence were a draft strategy, the Steelers would have aced it. DeMonte Capehart at the 209th pick is 66 spots clear of where he belonged. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

J.J. McCarthy is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Bailey. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
