Draft Grade — Titans
Overall F
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureF
The Titans answered their biggest question with Ward. Grade: F.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Titans reached some 164 spots for Karon Prunty, and value like that does not grow back. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.

They banked enough surplus on Paul Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

They have staked the next five years on Cam Ward, which is the only story that really matters here. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

It is not that Mukuba is a bad player; it is that the Titans had louder needs to answer first. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

There is no spinning it; the board won this weekend going away.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick No. 8 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick20 Rnd1 Xavier Restrepo
In pick 20 they get a go-to option on the outside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick28 Rnd1 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams at slot 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick97 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach Round 3, Pick 33 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick98 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A running back of that caliber at the 98th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick99 Rnd3 Kenneth Grant
Somehow Kenneth Grant was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick104 Rnd4 Xavier Watts
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick121 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
A curious use of the Round 4 slot. Edge rusher needed the pick; a safety in Andrew Mukuba did not.
Pick126 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
They barely believed it either: Deontae Lawson still on the board at No. 126. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick127 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at Round 4, Pick 26 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at pick No. 128 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick129 Rnd4 Will Howard
Will Howard at the 129th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick166 Rnd5 Tai Felton
Tai Felton at pick 166 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick183 Rnd6 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. in the 183rd overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick242 Rnd7 Chris Paul Jr.
The board fumbled Chris Paul Jr. all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Lander Barton
They will replay Lander Barton at pick No. 245 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick247 Rnd7 Eli Stowers
Circle this one: Eli Stowers at pick 247 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick249 Rnd7 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at No. 249 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick252 Rnd7 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in Round 7, Pick 38 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick254 Rnd7 Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss in the 254th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
Taking Jack Kiser in the 255th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick256 Rnd7 Karon Prunty
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Karon Prunty well ahead of where he belonged. A minor itch, scratched.
