anthonyperiandri1 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns robbed the room for Kandra. Final grade: B. Call it larceny. Luke Kandra sat on the board until the 192nd overall pick, and the Browns did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Skattebo reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
They paid sticker price for Travis Hunter in the 2nd overall pick, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick33
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka in slot 33 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick67
Rnd3
Tyler Booker
They barely believed it either: Tyler Booker still on the board at Round 3, Pick 3. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick94
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
A reach on Cam Skattebo in the 94th pick; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe slid further than he should have, and pick No. 104 is lovely value for the quarterback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick179
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jack Kiser. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick192
Rnd6
Luke Kandra
They will replay Luke Kandra at pick 192 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick200
Rnd6
Thomas Fidone II
No edge and no loss on Thomas Fidone II in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216
Rnd6
Jordan Hancock
No drama and no debate, Jordan Hancock went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Pick255
Rnd7
Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway in pick No. 255 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
