The Chargers cashed the board's mistake on James: A.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chargers were there to profit. DJ James, the No. 53 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 4 slot.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Spending an early pick on safety with interior defensive lineman and quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
