The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Cam Ward, the No. 6 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 211 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
